This is a multi-year project for the Seattle District of the Army Corps of Engineers near Yakima, Washington.  The project provided tank trails and targets for live ammunition practice.  All targets will be controlled remotely by the range commander through a network of transformers, controllers and communications cable.  To build this project, Wilder places more than 10 miles of underground trench and fifty miles of cable.  Excavation included drilling and blasting rock for nearly 400,000 CY of excavation and placement.  In addition to the normal heavy civil construction activities, Wilder’s work included underground ordinance disposal and working in close proximity to live bomb drops by fighter jets.

Environmental mitigation efforts included the construction of raptor poles and watering areas for native wildlife.  Wilder places an emphasis on field quality control and safety and open communication with the Corps and owner on a regular basis.  The project was completed and turned over to the Army on schedule.
