The project involved demolition of an existing trailer court and all of the associated undersized utilities and roadways.  Extensive clearing of the 23+ acre site was needed due to the mature second growth timber.  The development agreement required Washington Dept. of Transportation and Snohomish County frontage upgrades on three sides.  The site team coordinated four separate government inspection teams to successfully integrate the project’s multiple jurisdictions.

The 228th St SW/ SR 527 intersection upgrade involved complete replacement of the signalization, additional turn pockets and widening of the roadway shoulders to allow for new travel lanes and sidewalks.  Late relocation of Snohomish Co. PUD transmission poles required creative temporary safety features to insure timely completion of the project.

In contrast to the original geo-technical report, approximately 30,000 cubic yards of peat was located and subsequently removed and replaced from directly under the future building pads.  Removal of this material and inclement weather threatened to delay completion.  Innovative and cost effective solutions were processed at field meetings between the client, Perteet Engineering, and Wilder Construction Company, the result being an on-time opening in spite of an approximate 30% increase in the scope of work.

Wilder was responsible for the entire sitework package and self-performed all of the earthwork, building pad preparation, domestic utilities (water, storm, sanitary), road widening, finish grading, wetland mitigation and hot mix asphalt paving.
