Project Engineer









Position Title: Project Engineer
   
Location:   Everett Branch
   
Reports To: Everett Branch Manager

Position Summary

Oversee construction activities assuring compliance with project plans and specifications in a manner consistent with Company policies and procedures.

Primary Responsibilities

Assist in development and monitoring of project budgets.

  • Assist in managing costs, budgets and schedules for construction projects.
  • Collect and code project cost documents to the budget.
  • Review jobs cost trends and provide accurate assessments of project status.
  • Communicate with project management to keep them apprised of the status of operations.
  • Continually monitor and update the budget to reflect changes in the work.

Assist in development and monitoring of project schedules.

  • Review work approaches and short-term schedules for improving work methods.

Oversee the timely submittal and completion of documentation required by the owner and agencies.

  • Implement and maintain project filing system.
  • Prepare subcontractor and supplier agreements to be executed.
  • Prepare correspondence to document changes in work or costs.
  • Maintain a comprehensive daily work diary to record key activities.

Help to supervise crews, work activities and subcontractors.

  • Work with foremen and superintendents to monitor all activities to insure a safe and efficient working environment for crews, subcontractors and the public.

Promote good public relations with owners, subcontractors, suppliers, agencies, inspectors and the general public.

Participate in and support all safety activities.

Perform other assignments as required; Duties may vary given the size, scope and complexity of projects.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

  • Four (4) year engineering or construction related degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
