The
Civil Construction Division, based in Everett, Washington, is responsible
for bidding and building heavy civil projects throughout the Northwest.
Project types include highways, bridges, dams, underground utilities,
landfill cells and closures, and interstate noise walls. With the
acquisition of Construction and Rigging, Inc. 1995, the Civil Construction
Division gained the ability to construct combination grading, paving
and structures projects with it own forces, a capability appreciated
by many clients. Since much of the work performed by the Civil
Construction Division is in the greater Puget Sound area, crews
from other Wilder branches oftentimes team with the Civil crews
to accomplish the work. With the combining of forces, many projects
can be efficiently constructed at the same time and be finished
ahead of schedule. The addition of Chinook salmon to the Endangered
Species list, and the recognized importance of clean water to their
survival, has forced the fast-tracking of many projects that include
bridges over fish bearing streams or earthwork projects with surfaces
exposed to the weather. Wilder has the capability to accomplish
difficult projects within the constraints of short completion times.
