Branch Manager
 
 
Position Title: Branch Manager, Thurston County
Classification: Exempt
Location:   Washington (Olympia)
Reports To:   WA Division Mgr
 
 
Position Summary:
 
The primary focus of this position is to manage the branch and branch personnel to ensure the safe and profitable delivery of our short term and long term strategic objectives as part of the Washington Division.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Participate in development and execution of the Branch Strategic Plan and Washington Division Strategic Plan.
  • Hold branch personnel (and self) accountable to deliver on expectations (financial, personnel, quality, safety, growth)
  • Prepare and communicate accurate estimates, budgets and forecasts
  • Coordinate recruiting & staffing with HR and other leaders.
  • Mentor, develop & train supervisors into leaders
  • Develop self personally through executive coaching, leadership development and continuing education (inside and outside Wilder)
  • Develop and enhance relationships with customers, suppliers, subcontractors, and key stake-holders
  • Actively participate in various industry associations (AGC, NAPA, Chamber of Commerce etc.)
  • Liaison to corporate and division management
  • Work with Plants Department to ensure efficient operation of branch material resources and plants.
  • Work with Plants Department to develop new material resources for Thurston County.
REQUIRED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
  • Ability to lead a team effectively and motivate team members
  • Ability to participate on a team
  • Desire and ability to grow our business in Thurston County.
  • Advanced knowledge of markets, customers and growth opportunities
  • Advanced ability to identify needs and develop people, equipment and material resources to meet current and future demands
  • Advanced knowledge of estimating, project management, forecasting, materials production & equipment
  • Demonstrated negotiating skills
  • Advanced writing and oral communication skills
  • Advanced skills in time management, prioritization & delegation
  • Advanced knowledge of Wilder’s Policies and Procedures


Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
  • 10+ years heavy civil construction experience
  • BA/BS in Construction Management , Civil Engineering or related field strongly preferred
  • Strong communication, negotiation and networking skills
  • Familiarity with computer office applications, including Word and Excel.
